Default 2020 CX5 Touring AC head unit intermittent failure

For the last couple months I have been noticing at times when I turn on the AC button and turn the temperature controls to the lowest settings sometimes my AC does not turn on. Only the fan air blows. Sometimes when I'm running the heater and then turn on the AC button and lower the temperature the same thing occurs. It fails to turn on the AC. This happens intermittently and sometimes the AC does turn on fine.

I took my vehicle to a independant shop to inspect the AC. There was nothing wrong with the freon levels , no leaks detected and all fuses/relays checked out to be fine. I was told when the mechanic had his scan computer connected to the system and the AC button is turned on his computer does not detect the AC on at all at times but at times it would kick back on so it's intermittent.

This mechanic said he recommends taking it into a Mazda dealership because he doesnt have advance scan tools or computer to diagnose this any further but he believes the AC head unit may be faulty.

Anyone have a clue on here or have heard of any thing like this happening to the CX5? I only have 38k miles so my warranty just ended unfortunately.

This can happen with any vehicle's AC.
And while I could offer "suggestions" of what could be wrong, you should do exactly what the independent shop suggested, and take it to a Mazda dealership.
They will be able to find the actual reason why this is occurring.
Good Luck.
