So.. 2019 cx5 GT 80k miles. Drove down the road and the emergency brake light comes on multiple times while driving - I also think the EB engaged when I hit the regular brake. Then I pulled over, turned the car off to restart and it shut off once. I started it again and drove back home (6-7 miles) with no issue.

*Car shut off and after restarting said "Move ky fob closer" (Fob battery is pretty much dead)

*Weak battery for sure - was listening to music with the engine off and it died within 10 minutes. Had to jump it. Going to put in a new battery today. The battery is 4 years old.

*Fuel Pump Recall to be replaced soon by the dealer.



The plan is to take it to AutoZone for a code check and a new battery today.



Thoughts?

 

While you’re there have them load test the old battery. If it checks out the problem may not be the battery. Still, after four years it’s wise to replace it.

The battery is good - auto zone said no need to replace it - (the guy was quite experienced) Said the parking brake may be a bad sensor.
Taking it in to the local shop for complete brake work (all rotors/pads) replaced (Never done it and the vehicle has 80k miles-I can hear the metal on metal)
I'll also have them replace the spark plugs or do it myself and save money

It's my wife's so I don't drive it much. I drove it today and the Pbrake did blink on like 3 times, but not in a row - several minutes between blinks.
