Default 2019 Mazda CX-5 2.5L - Mobil Site

For my 2019 Mazda Cx-5 2.5L I have used Mobil1 Full Synthetic 0W20 Extended Performance and a Mobil1 M1-108A filter since my car was new. My wife just got a new car, a 2025 Subaru Crosstrek Premium 2.5L. So I went to the Mobil site to find the recommended oil and filter for that car. It came up with no oil recommendation but the M1-108A for an oil filter.

Here's where it gets interesting. For fun, I checked their recommendations for my Mazda. It comes up with nothing, and the message : "
Please consult your vehicle manufacturer's manual for information specific to your vehicle."

This surprised me. I'm pretty sure I've checked the site in the past an their Mobil1 0w20 and M1-108A were recommended. Any ideas on what happened?

Not unusual with a new car. They haven't done their analysis yet and would prefer you wear the cost if they make erros in their recommendations.

My comment/question was more about my 2019 CX-5. At one time they had recommendations. Now they don't. Seems unusual.

That's something you need to discuss with them.

I doubt calling up Mobil about it isn't going to get me any answers. I was hoping someone here would have an idea about it.

If you contact Mobil one you "WILL" get the correct answer.

if you look at the information about your specific platform and application you need to learn first how to verify that it is the most up to date information. So go to the bottom of the main page and read all the update dates!!!

As for Mobil 1 and ALL oil bottling retail information they ALL state in so many words when in question always use the owners guide or contact the Auto manufacture (not a dealership) to get their suggested "recomendation" oil to use.

If you are a more intelligent individual, then you will find that even Mazda still uses the technical temperature guide for what viscosity to use.

And to make things even more challenging for at least a few members unless their is a WARNING or CAUTINARY notation NOT to use or to USE ONLY a specic type and viscosity oil then there is no real wrong choice if you use the oil veicosity by operating temopreture or environment charts.

The Mazda 0w20 that comes in most (NOT ALL) manufactured Mazda is to meet MPG and emission standards first and foremost.

As for oil filters get real and stay with top brand names and don't get caught up in all the BS about filtering capacity. If you change your oil on a regular basis, you are NOT going to see any real benefits of a 40-dollar oil filter. LOL
But if they make you feel good to use them, it's your money.
M1 108A gas engine
Mobile 1 is currently updating their cataloging informatio0n.
However, if it is gas, last year Mobil 1 in thier engineering department had both Mazda N/A and Turbo oil filters and found nothing different between them and so did not offer a TURBO specific oil filter and their cataloging reflected that information. As will guess when the cataloging update is complete the part number for turbo gas engines will be M1 108 A
