Question 2018 CX-5 Connect Firmware and Apple CarPlay

Greetings,

I have been shopping around for a SUV \ crossover for a few months now, and a 2018 CX-5 has become available at my local Mazda dealership.. The price offering the dealership has given me is quite attractive, plus I absolutely love how this CX-5 drives.

My question is, the 2018 CX-5 does not include Apple Car Play, however there is an upgrade available, and I believe it costs around $400 (from some Googling). I come from an IT background, and have watched a number of YouTube videos, so I feel that this is a task that I could do on my own, however I want to ensure that the dealer installs the most recent firmware for the Mazda’s Connect infotainment system. I will be checking the car again tomorrow and will verify what version is currently installed.

I am interested if anyone could let me know what would be the most recent Mazda Connect firmware version for a 2018 CX-5 just so can specify when I met with the dealer again tomorrow.

Thank you!

Torbuck

You can also easily update the firmware yourself.
