I own a CX-30 SkyactiveX automatic transmission and I have the following suggestions for car software update:

1. Using automatic gearbox in D mode the gear number is not displayed as it is when in manual mode. This is a useful information that should be available, most of the automatic cars in the market do display this information.
2. The auto-hold electric handbrake status should be maintained after the engine stops so next time the engine is started it will be at the same choice.
3. There should be a sound alarm when any light are left lit. Once I left by mistake the presence lights lit and next day I had no battery.
4. The blue light of high beam when in "divided" mode should be different from the usual light sign. Like a "V" for example.

 

Can't be too difficult to enlarge the backup camera to fill the full 8.8 in.display either.

 

It would really great if, when shutting the car down after night driving, the centre display didn’t flash to full brightness before turning off. In a darkened garage, with eyes fully dark adapted, the flash of light is retina-searing!

 

I have more suggestions!
A setting to permanently disable iStop
A setting to prevent radio/other sound source from automatically starting when the car is turned on.
A setting to add reversing camera view to the others accessible from the camera view button.

 

My suggestion for an improvement.

Delete or permit me to turn off, the Parking Brake automatically engaging.

I know when to engage the parking brake and it is frustrating to have to disengage it each time I start my CX.

 

A much improved Voice Command system. Use the Google product that is on my cell. And the voice commands are real terrible.

 

Oh, yes! Getting the voice responses to more closely approximate normal spoken English would also be great. Its laugh-out-loud funny when the voice system pronounces “towards” as “twuds”, but the first couple of times it happened I was frantically looking for a Twuds Street!
