I have a container of Prestone 50/50 that I had for top ups on my previous vehicle. The Mazda specs are for FL-22. Is it wise to use the Prestone for top ups on the CX-30?

You did post which Prestone you are using. 50/50 is not the type only the mix.
However when you retrieve that you can actually go on line to Prestone and answer your own question . Their website shows the compatibility information.
Their are coolant supply companies that specifically indicate FL-22 compatible.

IMHO if you are in Arizona your could use distilled water for topping off a reservoir. But if you are constantly having to do that you may consider getting your cooling system professional checked.

Do not use anything except for FL22 coolant. ( Both Ford & Mazda sell FL22 long-life coolant )
Do not dilute your factory coolant with any type of water.
