Boot Latch Replacement. Considered warranty or not?
Hi.
I brought a used 2020 CX-30 GT Sport Mhev last August from a UK Mazda dealer, and the boot latch now makes the loud banging when opening. I read its either loose bolts or the latch itself needs replacing ?
Any way Mazda dealer inspected and entered under warranty (also had issue with the side mirrors which warranty has been accepted) and gave me a replacement date to return car.
Today they have advised that Mazda have rejected the warranty claim on the latch and now I have to pay £300 + labour to have it replaced.
When buying the car I got Mazda's one year warranty. Would you consider this a warranty issue ? I feel like I've been scammed. 😁😭

That is not a WARRANTY. Your warranty extension plan is not a scam if you read it cover most likely major part failures. These are generally a good deal when buying a used Mazda.
Unfortunately, the dealership is not the "BADGUY" they could as a courtesy replace it, but MAZDA Corp would not give the dealership reimbursement for the labor or the part cost. So, dealerships must be prudent to how many courtesy services they do. After all they are still an independently owned business.
This is all assuming that the warranty plan was co-opt through Mazda and not an independent warranty coverage company. If it were then you need to read all the information on that plan and possibly contact that company direct.

Its through an Authorised Mazda dealer, and the warranty is the "Momentum Warranty". Just confirmed total cost is £531.24 inc vat.......
I am trying to understand why this particular part is not covered.

I suggest reading your policy or contact them directly!

Ire have to research it more then. The Mazda dealer has resent me via email the PDF "Mazda Approved Used Warranty" info that relates to me, and nothing in it indicates or suggests warranty is via another 3rd party.
So confused now.

Your warranty is an independent company. Yes it is approved by Mazda as the information Momentums website states. That does not mean that MAZDA crop *accepts them for dealerships to offer customers (*only) and the Mazda dealership can use them as an approved warranty service for used car customers, but it also states on the Momentums website that they have dealer contracts.
I also even gave the http for that information as well?
Not sure why you are not thinking this out a little better. I can't take sides to your issue but I can say that I read briefly the warranty offered by Momentums website and cant see that your part is definitely covered or not. But based on the cost you paid it fits the column as not? And this is nothing to do with MADA btw but with Momentum !
I am not sure what you want... maybe you want a member to just state "OMFG you are so wrionged" and "you should be taken care of by the dealershiplo" ? Sorry I don't see that nor do I post blowing false hope a members **** just to make them feel good.
Again i suggest that you go directly with your case and plead to Momentum and or ask the service advisor to try to plead your case with them. Sometimes being persistent without being a "jerk" may get positive results in your favor.
