Does anyone have any experience with 3rd party extended warranties?? my factory one has long since expired and although i've never had any problems with my '05 6i sport, i want to do everything i can to make sure i dont get sideswiped by some big *** repair bill in the future! so if anyone had one or has had experience with it PLEASE hit me up! I did alot of research before I bought my extended warranty and believe it or not I found the dealer to be the cheapest. My local Mazda dealer offered me an extented warranty with 20% down and the remainder of the balance to be paid on a monthy basis INTEREST FREE, I couldn"t believe it. I found that all the companies I called for quotes required payment in full and thats alot of money to put out all at once especially in todays economic situation. It's a 3rd party company and since it's sold by Mazda it will be repaired by Mazda thats a big plus in my book. Anyway it's worth checking with your dealer to see what they offer, the name of the warranty company my dealer uses is Fidelity Warranty Services.

So, are extended warranties actually useful? I was always under the impression they're more or less a waste of cash.

 

They are useful if your looking at a repairs that cost a couple grand, i.e engine,trans and electrical. Some companies will give you a percentage back of the cost of the contract if you don't use it.
