Default Tailgate struts failure

My tailgate struts have failed.
Anyone else had this?
New ones seem to be very expensive.

Where in the world are you?

You have 4 options,

1- New / Genuine
2- New / After-market
3- Regas
4- 2nd Hand.

I see you are in the UK, but there must still be many options for you besides the dealer.
In the US universal struts are available in most parts stores usually for <$20 ea. You would need to know the various measurements and style of the end links, or you could remove one and simply take it in.
Also, there is eBay that may be able to help you also. Just do a std search using your cars information.
