Default Question about clutch

Sometimes I find it difficult to go into first or second gear. Usually it is after about 20 minutes of driving. Although most times gear changes are fine. And the clutch itself feels fine too. My old car had a bad clutch and it the pedal would grind and vibrate when depressed. This one is great in comparison. But today I noticed my clutch pedal squeaking when I pressed it. The squeak seemed to come from the engine/under the car rather than the actual pedal. Like a rusty gate opening.

Also, for some reason I am able to push the clutch in once it is down. It is like you can depress the clutch to the floor. Then squash your foot into it and it moves and clicks. Like putting a lid on a biro. Is this normal?

Thanks

I don't think what you describe is normal. But what car do you have? Does it have a hydraulic clutch or a cable operated clutch?
