Mazda 1985 e5 dies and restarts on its own
At first it would not idle without choke. Saw arcing from ignition coil, switched out. Installed new spark plugs as well and new ignition wires. Looked at distributor cap and the point in the middle was chipped so i sanded it a bit to get it even. I know big no no.
Could not get rotor out no matter what as it is stuck.
Either way, we know it is getting fuel and air. And spark, but I am guessing the spark is weak. It will start up but after a second or two die, then it can just kick itself back into life again.
Will not idle at all.
Do you guys have any tips? To me it seems as if the cap and rotor is bad and the spark is weak, and because the rotor keeps spinning after it is dead it will get lucky and get 1 good spark and kick start the engine again.
