Flunked Emissions 89 929 SOHC (US)
Hi All,
My 89 is acting up. Idle is very very rough and will stall. I flunked my emissions test too. I have a new IACV and I am going to put that in first, but my emissions flunk was for NOx, generally pointing to an EGR issue. Does that pipe from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve plug up easily? It is kind of a good sized pipe. Are there any discussions regarding cleaning the EGR valve on this engine? ANY guidance is highly appreciated.
The car has only 109000 miles and still runs strong.
