I have a 2002 626 that I bought used from Enterprise RAC last year after my old Honda was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. For some reason I haven't been able to open the trunk with the key. The only key I have is the primary (two copies). I can open it from the front door but the dance of opening the front door, pressing the trunk button, and going to the trunk to pull it open has gotten old. I can't find anything in the manual that I can change or set to enable or disable the trunk lock. Any hints?

 

Does the key turn in the trunk lock cylinder or does it not turn at all as if it was the wrong key? Also does the key lock and unlock the glovebox? If key will not turn at all in both of those locks then you are probably using the 'valet' key and do not have the main key. If the trunk lock does turn but just will not open then you probably have a linkage between the cylinder and lock that has fallen off.
