After I changed battery for my 1999 protege, I tried 3 times wrong code and got the radio locked up.
Anyone know how to unlock the Err on the display?

On the face of the deck, usually in the upper right corner are a series of four digits. May be all numbers or may have a letter thrown in. example ( 4M32 ). What are they?

 

Thanks for the reply but I found no digit on the deck. I went to the dealer and my dealer was kind enough charged me nothing for a 15 sec button press job.

 

Am glad they did that for you for free z_afan. Many times that is a charge for something that takes only a few seconds to complete.

 

I no im digging up a very old thread, but i have just brought a Mazda 323 SP20 Astina and i had locked my Radio up, 'ERR' on screen, was wondering if any body can help me unlock it, Rang the mazda ppl around my area they all said its gona cost $$$ to replace deck? Why its only a blocked code is that right?

I found 1135 on my Deck hope someone can help?
