Default 96 mazda 626 problem

Car has been getting hot all the way to the red, never overheats, steams or shuts off, drives the same. Does this occasionally, not all the time. Has been doing that since winter. Today I noticed the car is leaking coolant. It looks like it is coming out of the bottom pulley. Can anyone tell me what it is or might be?

If i had to guess id say your water pump is going out
Water pumps have little spouts when they are going bad they sometimes release your coolant liquid
If its leaking whare the the Belt and pulley system is it is your water pump.

Jessica! Looks like your waterpump is going out. They normally leak first. They usually change the timming belt when they change the water pump. Depends on how long the timming has been on. Don'tlet them chang the belt unless it absolutly needs it. It's expensive. Could also be a sticky thermostat making the temp. gague rise slightly. Much cheeper.
