I just bought a 87 Mazda RX7 Turbo II (5 speed manual) It has 36000 miles and has sat for long periods of time in a garage. Should I replace the transmission and rear fluids. I change the oil right away. The car runs great and have had no problems st this point. I have put about 1000 miles on since owning.

I would definetly change all fluids including the coolant too. This would also be a good time to go synthetic for the trans and rear diff. This way you know you are starting back at zero on maintenance. Very cheap insurance.

 

Thanks for you help. I forgot to mention I have already flushed the coolant but thanks for the reminder. I will be taking it in this week to have it changed. I agree cheap insurance.
