Default Need additional key. Options?

Surely this is covered somewhere here but could not find it. Two key questions.

2008 Mazda CX-7.

1. I have one key (which I presume to be factory original), need another. I am an hour's drive from the nearest Mazda dealer and an hour away from a locksmith, too. There is a Ford dealer nearby if that helps. Is there a way to have a key made without the drive? And hopefully for less than the hundreds of dollars I think a dealer charges?

2. The remote buttons on the key do nothing. I cannot find a battery in this thing, an guessing it's not replaceable? Or, there is some secret incantation to open a battery compartment.

Thanks...

They do have a battery. Plenty of videos on YouTube showing you how to change the battery.

Cheaper option is a automotive locksmith. They need the key & the vehicle. Ford can't do anything.

Thank you! Battery access achieved!! That was making me nuts.

Nearest locksmith is an hour's drive but they do automotive work, so will pursue. Appreciate your advice.

Programing the fob to the car to make the buttons work always feels like I'm doing a cheat code in a video game
