Please help. My 2003 Protege sounds fine on Radio, but only broken, noisey right rear speaker works when on CD....it has rare, short spurts of sounding fine, too. Have cleaned CD player with bush-cleaner cd and with alcohol swabbed qtips.
Sugestions needed. Thank you.

Default Mazda 5

Just wanted to thank you all for this thread. I unlocked the radio in my 2006 (56) Mazda 5 2006 by forcing the Err message and then used the following;
Pressed preset 6, AM, Auto M, Seek^. Input 3511. Pressed and held Auto M and then whilst holding Auto M, pressed and held preset 6.
Worked a treat and saved me quite a few bob and a trip to the Mazda dealer.

I, like Post #144, have a Miata, mine is a 90 model with the old cassette radio. I am having the same problem he stated: not being able to get the dashes, so I can enter a number code. I have tried repeatedly to enter the sequence, but the display stays on ERR. Any suggestions would be helpful. I am used to entering the code in the past, but forget it, and guessed 3 times wrong! USA model.

Hello everyone.
I'm from county Durham England. I had to register to say a big thanks to you all. I own
a 2004 Mazda 2 ts.
Had a job done on my central locking, they had to disconnect the battery.
I thought I knew the radio code but failed twice. My handbook says after 3 fails,it's a
new unit. Then I found this forum and followed Blue's instructions (I had to fail again first to get the err message).Ignition at- ACC.- I used the number 4989.All I can say is brilliant! thanks again.
Cheers.
Mal.

Hi. you must "fail" 3 times to get the flashing-err.
Then make sure your ignition is set to acc.
then follow the instructions on this thread, there are many different codes.
Cheers.

Default 1996 mx-5 miata radio err fix

Found in the thread the following that worked on my 1996 mx-5 miata with err flashing...
press in sequence:
Scan, AM/FM, Auto M, Seek ^, then enter code 4989, then press and hold together for 5 seconds Auto M + Scan.... the screen will say "good" if it works. If it doesn't work you can retry as many times as you need to with this procedure.
