Default Mazda 5 CD Player Feature Not Functioning

Hello everyone so ever since I've bought this car, I've never been able to enjoy the MP3/CD Option on the radio and have to listen to the dross on FM.

I cannot put my finger on the cause of the fault it will not let me feed in any discs at all and when I press the 'Eject' button it says 'Empty'

I have a 2007 Mazda 5 Sport and would really appreciate a point in the right direction in how to repair this if possible.

Many Thanks

It seems be a common issue with the older models. You have the option to buy a second hand unit from the wreckers, or go with a aftermarket stereo and facia kit.
