Default Gas smell in cabin and trunk

Just got a new used 2000 from dealer with 14.5K on it. Drove home 20 miles OK, no smell. Filled tank and began to smell gas in cabin and trunk. Did not top off or spill gas when filling. Smells going slow or fast, with the top up or down and when stopped with engine off. Does not smell in engine compartment. No gas on ground.

The car probably spent a long time just sitting (check out the 14K miles) so it's possible there is some rotton rubber or a gasket someplace that dried out that's leaking. Any ideas woud be appreciated.

Also, does anybody have a link where I can download a maintance manual.
Thanks,
Jeff

I would check the fuel filler hose first.

Good luck to you.

Default gas smell

Bingo! Dealer found small leak in the filler hose between the filler and the tank. Still smells but will probably boil off after a few hot days in the sun. Thanks, you were right on.
