I have a 2023 Mazda CX-5 (with Navigation). My friend just bought a 2020 Mazda 6 GS without a navigation card. My friend is looking for advice on buying a navigation card. Once my free map updates are done after 3 years I will need a new card as well.

JUST FYI..... The reason in car navigation is good for us is because using Android Auto uses data and if we drive into USA we would be subject to massive roaming charges .

I have been investigating 3rd party navigation cards and here is what I found out.

- I have read reviews on Amazon that cards sold even as 2023 or 2024 version have maps that seem out of date. Users have said roads that have existed for 3 years are not showing.
- I have read that Mazda modified their Mazda toolbox to ensure that no updates will be done on non-OEM cards.
- There is a place called Navi-World that sells Navigation for Mazda. They claim it includes updates to 3 years. I am suspicious how updates would be done if Mazda has blocked the updating.
- Also it is strange how they charge less to send you a physical SD card than they charge you to send you a downloadable file to your own SD Card. That does not seem to make sense.
- Anyways if they really do sell update able navigation it might be worth paying a bit more.
- I was wondering if anyone has done a purchase from them?
