Mysterious brake sound no mechanic can solve
2016 Mazda 6 touring 6 speed.
Brought to local mechanic to change front brakes and rotors.
Shortly after I get the noise (see attached videos). Basically I get a squeak sound that follows the speed of the tires. At higher speeds its a squeak similar to low brake warning sound.
As I get slower and lessen the pressure on the brake pedal, it makes a sound reminiscent of squeaky struts, but again its the speed of the tires and goes away when releasing the brakes.
Local guy looked at it 3 times, re sanded the rotors. No change.
He then thought maybe the pins had some play in it and changed them. No change.
Few weeks later figuring maybe the brakes are just fresh and need to be broken in, I get same noise.
it SEEMS it's only when warming the brakes up after a few initial quiet stops.
Brought it to a MAZDA dealer to do some warranty work on front struts, which they thought may actually be the noise.
No change. They looked at the brakes and said well there is some hot spots. But I get no vibration or warped rotor feeling. They had no further suggestions.
Before I go and throw these fresh brakes and rotors out, does anyone have ideas?
I noticed this does not happen when braking in reverse, even at higher speeds.
