Help on modding my 93 Protege
Hi I have a 1993 Protege automatic Dx... not happy with performance. So I have a couple of questions where can I find performance parts for this car I looked everywhere. I want coilovers, headers, where to find HIDs , exhaust only a muffler for now, cold air intake, and what wheels would be suitable ? I have 13s and they look horrible. My friends said 15s or 16s I don’t want them huge but not so tiny like 13s. Also would I be able to put in a lx head on my dx block? I forgot the engine names but you know what I mean. I just want the dohc or do I have to swap the whole
Motor? Also how hard is it to convert to a 5 speed? Thanks!

First welcome to the forum. I am impressed with your vision. Before you start spending the money necessary to accomplish what you want with the Protege, I recommend that you work up a rough budget and compare the total expected costs to a project with a different starting point. You are talking about upgrades that will cost thousands and I wonder if you bought a later model with many of the improvements already there you might get a better end result for a lot less money.
I'm a CPA so I have to get the budget and cost benefit analysis out there.

I just want to know where to find a proper intake, headers, exhaust, s for right now. I was just wondering if I can put a bp head on it to get the dohc and how hard is it to swap to manual for the future.
