I go to school for culinary arts and restaurant management, so needless to say, i'm in food service...

I start a new job on thursday morning at Lancaster Brewing Company doing prep work.
Lancaster Brewing Company...I am up in Pottstown, PA. Lancaster isn't too far from here...and I know I know Lancaster Brewing Company somehow...I just can't think of how I know it!
Maybe you're thinking of Walnut Street Grille? Food is great, and the brewing co. has several of their own brands of beer. My wife and I meet with some friends there maybe once a month or so.

Great to see another local on the forum timp!

yeah, definately good to see locals and whatnot... maybe we should have a little mini-meet thing one of these days. lol

The Brewing Company is seeming like a great job thus far... i'm learning a lot and getting paid to do so. It's not a bad gig!

and yes, technically the name of the restaurant is the walnut street grille, but nobody bothers to remember that around here, it's all just the Lancaster Brewing Company. lol

and Pottstown, eh? good beer you folks have there as well. Lancaster loves its Yuengling.

With as many as what I can tell are from the general area here on the forum, a local meet wouldn't be a bad idea. Everyone bring their local microbrew!

And I'd second the Yuengling nomination......oldest brewery in the U.S.. Great place to tour and pick up some gear and free beer!

Hmm...nope, that wasn't what I was thinking of! Have you all heard of the Iron Hill Brewery? The original is in West Chester. They built a second one about 2 years ago in North Wales..aka Montgomeryville. Their Raspberry Wheat beer is AMAZING! I was telling the Mazda guys on another forum I would arrange a meet for the locals if they wanted me too. I'm a veteran with that stuff!

the guys at mazda626.net in my general vicinity were talking about going to hershey... but they're not exactly taking any initiative.

you'd probably be into LBC's Strawberry Wheat Beer... raspberry wheat sounds good too. When i open my own brewpub, i'm gonna make pineapple wheat beer.
or at least when i take this beer brewing class in school i'm gonna give it a shot and see how it goes.

I've had the English ale and have tried the pumpkin ale. Unfortunately that is all I've ever had the opportunity to try.

Rasberry wheat does sound good. Rasberry would be one of my perferred add ins for several mixed drinks. Next time around I'll try it! I promise!

A discovery of mine that has most everyone I know hooked on in the cooler months, like fall or winter, is Pepsi & Cinnamon After Shock on the rocks. You get the After Shock at your local State Store. I say Pepsi, not because of preference, but because of its taste. Coca Cola or most other colas have a more sweet taste as the Pepsi has a more harsh, darker flavor than most colas. This is what brings out the perfect blend between the Pepsi and the After Shock. Gotta make it just right though......there's a technique, or you ruin the full effect.

Just a thought......anyone ever drop a few Mentos into a 2 liter of diet soda??? Try it outdoors and step back.... (I really do stress OUTDOORS!!)

As for the Philly meet, that sounds good, but unfortunately I know I'll be hung up with work that weekend. Otherwise we'd probably consider it. My weekends are locked solid well into fall. Bummer.
