No it is not covered under warranty
This 2005 Tribute was towed in earlier this week. Owner says that she was at the local pub having dinner, started to drive home and the oil light came on. Continued to drive for 15 miles to get home. Engine would not start in the morning so had towed into the shop thinking that battery had drained. Engine is throughly siezed up from lack of oil. Can't belive that it made it for 15 miles!! Owner is sure that nothing was hit and even claims it must be our fault as we did the very first oil change last week (only has 3036 miles on it). This even after seeing the damage to the filter and resulting oil loss. Have to wonder what she had for dinner at the pub??? Her insurance company is picking up the tab for a new engine at $3900 and $800 in labor to install.
