the new EVO isn't out. That's just the standard lancer. it's an econobox, of course it isn't any good.

they say that they 2008 evo will be slower than the others that have come to america. i just hate mitsu's anyways and along with mitsu's, i hate their american version, dodge. so i might not be the right person to weigh in on this, but there it is anyways.

i think the overall appeal of the lancer evo is that it is built very cheaply and that makes it feel like you are going faster than you really are. they are using the same basic tech that they have used on the vr4's for over 2 decades now. i think that it is time for a revamp.

the lancer (non-evolution) is very slow. its an economy car with a naturally aspirated 2.0 liter engine making 150hp and 146lb/ft of torque at 6000rpms and weighs from 2921 lbs to 3031 lbs. on the other hand, the lancer evolution is a different story. it was designed for sport. it has awd and a 2.0 turbocharged engine with stock front mount intercooler. the evolution is almost untouchable on the autocross track...great handling, acceleration, and braking. there is not much information on the 2008 evolution as of yet...but it is going to be 500 lbs lighter that the evoIX, and a bit more sophisticated, asthetically speaking.

....still slow, no but really ive never heard, seen nor looked for a fast lancer, and ive seen turbo lancers lose to a stock n/a k20 civic (on the street and track), its weird how the lancer and EVO motors differ (other than the obvious), but even if u turbo a lancer and make everything whp and tq the same...the EVO still wins even from a roll and AWD cars are slower on a roll.
