Default MSRP Price

hey there everyone. im new to this forum as well as to the "FINANCING A CAR" game.. just a question.. im looking into the MazdaSpeed3 GT. MSRP is 24,650. my dealer is saying that they sell their cars $1,000 over MSRP price, meaning i would have to pay $25,650. Sounds a bit fishy to me.. can anyone explain to me whether these guys r trying to rip me off or this is a legitimate charge. thanks in advance.

They can charge you anything they want...it only works if you pay them. Find a different dealer. many are selling for MSRP.

Supply and demand. Toyota was able to market their Prius for $4,000+ above MSRP for a while. I know my mom paid $27,000 for her V6 Mustang convertible that, when fully loaded should be $23,000 and that price she paid could've gotten her a well equpped V8 Coupe. It all depends on the area and what is popular and how much you are willing to pay to drive it.
