Which Mazda should I go for?
Hey guys, I just joined the forum today. I'm looking at options for my first personal car.
I'm obviously set on getting a Mazda. My parents bought a new 2001 Millenia and owned it until 2013. I enjoyed driving it and I appreciate an exhilarating driving experience.
Two specific vehicles I am considering are a 2008 Mazda 3 2.0, and a 2012 Mazda 6 Touring 2.5.
The 3 has 70k miles, and the 6 has around 60k. They both have a clean Carfax. The 3 is listed for around $8k, and the 6 is listed for around $11k.
Which is the better buy?

Mazda 6 might be a good choice if you carry more than 2 people. Hopefully there is a record of maintenance. If not be prepared to change the fluid in the car Auto Trans, Anti Freeze, Power Steering,Brake Fluid, Oil so going forward you know its all fresh. Check Brake Pads and Rotors on all 4 wheels they too may need replacing. And how about those tires do you have heavy snow fall in your area? It all adds up to starting with a fine car ready to go 100k and beyond.
If your under 30 yrs old the Mazda 3 may suit you well or if your like me always driven a small car they are a blast to drive and if you can turn a wrench not to hard to maintain. I'm 65 and enjoy my 2011 Mazda 3S! Have learned to turn a wrench and so far only changed the fluids in my car along with the Cabin Air Filter and Oil Filter n Air Filter. Haven't seen the dealership since delivery and hopfully never will unless I have to change a PCV valve or Thermostat. Then again there are some good youtube videos that I'm watching and may even try to tackle them as well. Who says you can't teach and old dog new tricks.
Enjoy your purchase which ever car you choose!
