Good bye to few iconic auto part manufactures
The funny thing is I get my raw camshaft billets from China. Generally, I need to purchase 10 or more at a time to get my price point. You would think and we had predicted that with all going on between China and the USA that the cost of the billets would increase. Nope, in fact the number of minimum units was reduced the bulk pricing as well. This started even during the hold on cargo ships coming from China during the tariff re-negotiating. I was also told by a few friends in the performance parts industry that this also what transpired with them. While we all would like to be able to buy from a USA based supplier it's not realistic until more factories re-open or just open up. So at least I am thankfully that my cost on some goods during this interest global manufacturing time have not gone up in cost to me.
The closer of the brake supplier I mention in the first post did cost me more to find a new supplier for some parts I need for kits offered through my aftermarket company. These parts I can't get from other countries and must rely on current USA based part manufactures which is not the best to choose from for my requirements. Yet!
