ok the cf should be here tomorrow or next monday, and probably the same with the rest of the material, so maybe next friday I can mail it off.

Yeah. thank you so much for all of this. I tried to make it something simple rather than a difficult item like a hood or a door. lol
But I've wanted a 3rd brake logo blockoff for quite sometiem. I almost got a black on made of vynil but this'll be so much cooler.

Well... I have been considering aCF overlay for the fuel door? I don't know how it would look against my white though.I've tried to PS a picbut it always turns out lookinglike plain ole' black. And we know CF is much more interesting looking than that.

 

I do not want to go CF crazy, maybe a couple little things.
the color of my car will be a metallic blue

so things like mirrors. which are black already will be in cf.
maybe my antenna nub.
the might be about it for the outside. maybe CF laid around the stereo

however as I get better and better with CF i will want to make more things. thats why if you want somthing let me know.
now I wont be able to make a hood. lol no way.

 

ok get a close up of your fuel door. and then one kinda far away, Ill see what I can do on putting it on there.
I might be able to make something that wraps around the door the uses the stock one. and then 3M it on.
I might have to go find a mazda 3 for it though.

Carbon Fiber received.
looks like a big "C" Shape almost
but its 2x twill type of cf. all the good stuff is made with it.

anyhow the last owner didnt think it would be nice to tape the ends and sides of the CF
so it was frayed but not too bad. some tape and its good to go.


waiting for the resin now. then time to get the glass from a local shop.

btw cutting this piece for where it says rx7 is going to be really hard. I will have to get a razor blade and very careful cut it.
and then peel the tape off.

 

Ahh I imagine so. I just watched a video about the behind the scenes of making a Ferrari. They do painstaking precision work every day puttin gpeople's lives on the line. I'll take you're logo cutting to this much respect . Think of it as being a proud Italian doing your craft (even if you're....... well not Italian.)

 

well I am going to have to use small pieces of tape and cute very very carefully around the cut out. I might lay it down on the tape then trace it.

we will see how this works out, gonna be fun!
