Another update.

Got my resin
MEKP
and Peel Ply today
so tomorrow ill head to a local glass shop and get some glass cut.

ill do my mirrors and while they dry ill start with your brake light.
this is going to be difficult. I may not be able to cut it, after handling the CF and taping it up after the
previous owner owned the mat. im not sure. im going to try.

Default Carbon Fiber Project

Well as some of you know in my last Carbon Fiber post I was talking about ideas to use carbon fiber with

Well now here is my projects that I am doing with my Carbon Fiber in the next two days.

Planned Projects:

Mirrors covered in Carbon Fiber - Pending

Mirror pads - Drying - See pictures below

Turbo 87 3rd Brake Light - Not possible to cut cf without it fraying. will look into other ways, will take suggestions

Flat radio bezel filler - Drying. Pictures will be up when radio mount is put into place.

Turn Signals - Pending (putting CF inside housing of signal, waiting for clear mold to even attempt)

Below is Pictures of the Mirror Pads - I cant think of the actual name of them, but this is the area where you change the mirror angle so you can see.

Turbo's brake light.

Well after playing with the CF and laying it down and cutting it

I can only see one option with this brake light cover

to use a dremel. however I am not sure how well the CF will cut yet

and there is another problem, below is a picture of his brake light

and my cutting wheels will not be able to get that small to
the round portions I can with my sanding bits no problem,
but unless they make smaller cutting wheels I dont think that I
will be able to do this.

HOWEVER

the carbon fiber is thick enough to only do 1 layer and not two.

ok so where am I going with this.
I can lay the Carbon fiber out, lay tape down and slowly cut the carbon fiber while applying a
**** load of pressure to make sure I go through the CF. then lay the resin down on the cf and lay some peel ply

however on the back of the cover there will be tape. will it come off? I dont know. maybe maybe not. but I will try as soon as my CF sheet
that I am doing is done curing.

if you could get really good at it, i have been looking for a place to find a carbon fiber hatch for my pro 5. all that i can find is a place that will let me buy 10 at a time custom built. as you can imagine, they want an arm and a leg for them plus they need an original to start with as a pattern.
