Best Speaker Upgrade for My Mazda CX-5 Without Replacing the Head Unit?
Hey everyone,
I recently picked up a 2019 CX-5 with the non-Bose audio setup and honestly the stock sound is disappointing.
I do not want to touch the head unit just yet and prefer a straightforward drop in upgrade for now. A buddy of mine mentioned that quality golf cart speakers built for outdoor use actually perform surprisingly well in cars due to their weather resistance and sensitivity ratings.
Has anyone tried something similar or have recommendations for high sensitivity aftermarket door speakers that pair well with a low powered Mazda stock deck?

This is not a simple question.
I did think that the advise to use “ outdoor” designed speakers was a joke.
Because the doors come with very little almost no sound insulation investing in any quality producing speakers is a waste of money.
You can upgrade but unless you are willing to add amplifier(s) then again just changing speakers will not yield much improvement over stock speakers unless the stock is blown and you are replacing it. .
Best advise is set a budget limit on this project , decide what you think you can DIY or must have a stereo shop or experienced person in sound system upgrades do then post that and you will get better specific answers instead all the possible and better options.
Just try not to get talked into getting speakers designed specifically for boats , off road vehicles and RV in general. lol
