Default yep, another newbie to pick your brains!

Hi all and thanks in advance for looking and hopefully helping!

I've just bought a Mazda 323 Celebration (V reg) 1.5 and love it! 97k on clock.

One or two little teething problems though.

Main one (and reason for asking for help / advice) is that it seems to be holding back on acceleration at times and I have to put my foot down to get it going / keep it from stalling.

I've had a little poke around and the spark plugs look clean, plenty of oil, coolant etc but the only thing that sticks out is the throttle wire looks like it could do with tightening up as it seems a little loose (I think).

If anybody could help or offer advice, I would be very happy.

Thanks once again

You don't mention a year, or transmission type either but it could be a lot of things that might cause that. Does the car still have a distributor? A vacuum advance/retard unit? A carburetor or fuel injection?
A bad or dirty O2 sensor. A bad or dirty MAF/MAP sensor(s.) Clogged EGR. A clogged or bad (going bad) catalytic converter. A broken intake hose, etc, etc, etc....
Can you give us some more information about the car and the problems with which to help you narrow it down a bit?
