Default USB flash drive music

Hi.... we just bought a new CX-5... and we are learning .... it takes time... our latest efforts are with the stereo... got a lot of it figured out..... but... we would like to listen to music located on our flash drives... so we experimented a bit... On the flash drive are five folders/albums... when we go to the USB source, the stereo plays track 1 on album one... then track 2... etc.. We learned how to move to the third or fourth or whatever track using the main ****....but, now we would like to know if we can listen to the first folder music and somehow move to another folder/album of music.... instead of listening to the tracks in order and the folders in order.... so an example.... we listen to folder one tracks 1 and 2 and 3 and then decide we would like to listen to the fourth folder/album.... how do we get there? Ideas? Thanks....

I also recently bought a CX-5 and have been going through the learning phase, like you. I also use a USB flash drive for my music. As I see it, you keep pressing the rotary **** until you can choose folders again; then choose the folder you want and then choose the mp3 file you want to switch to.

I just installed an aftermarket stereo from my sports car, into my 1995 Chevy truck using an adapter kit... I never listened to this stereo in the car very much because the car is so loud... but now in the truck, I am starting to use it.... why did I buy this stereo? because it had a USB port and one of the first on the market years ago... and like the Mazda, you have to read and study the owner's manual to learn how to use it because the buttons are confusing at first..... but the one button that shows a forward indicator you can press once and hold it for a two count... and it moves ahead one folder.... if you hold that same button down for a short split second touch, it advances one song..... I kept looking for something similar on the Mazda controls but it simply is not to be.... and honestly, it is NOT a big deal.... So the way I am going to approach this is to just add individual songs to several flash drives and forget about the songs that are less important.... and maybe put the songs in folders but probably not... just one long list of songs... but I plan to experiment some more too.... more less a design your own music files on flash drives.... and change them if they get old.... flash drives at their best..... have a good one...

Just a thought: I have over 7300 songs on a USB stick. I find that it is most enjoyable by having them played by song alphabetically.

I just looked for a bunch of used smaller capacity flash drives on Ebay..... and found 17 for $38..... and will check to make sure they work.... and are formatted correctly.... will maybe try several listings on each one and maybe by genre... jazz pop orchestra etc....

Quick question..... If I am using a flash drive with about 100 songs in one list... no folders... and I start playing song one then two and three.... etc. up to song 43...... and then shut off the Mazda.... come back an hour later and head down the road again... does the flash drive music start from the beginning, song one.. or does it continue on after song 43 with song 44? I will need to try this but just wonder if anyone else has had this question?
