Default two pressure regulators?

hi, I have 2000 ford courier with mazda 2.6i engine. it has two fuel pressure regulators (why?) one is on the end of the fuel rail where it should be and the other is in between the pump and the fuel rail. is this one neccassary? as it is leaking and good old ford motor co want $280 for a piece of tin with a spring inside.

I think the leaking one is a "pressure dampener". Try to get a part number. Is this an "Australian spec" vehicle?

I have the same issue with my 1995 Ford Courier. Did you end up finding a supplier for the Denso 0390 G620 part?
