I found a few topics along this line but couldn't find the answers so I'll try asking it myself. My wife's 2005 Mazda mpv has a door issue. For a few weeks it's been really hard to open and close. She thought it was ball bearings. Well today it quit closing. It's completely stuck and it looks like the door is all cockeyed. Im thinking the door
may have come free of the track at the bottom but i don't know and i can't figure out how to get a closer look. So if anyone has advice or knowledge of what the problem likely is, I'd be grateful.

I had the same exact issue with my mpv, when i tried to force the door open it completely fell off the track. Did you ever fix this issues? We got the door back on the track but it doesn't open now and i'm not sure what to do.
These doors need more frequent servicing and also not weather or last very long when not clean and kept clean. That picture is an example of a poorly maintained Mazda.
If you were to post a picture of your door track, I am sure that we would see badly worn components and door seals.
You may start to look into replacement sliding door parts before attempting to repair or continue to use it so you will have those parts ready to replace.
If the door is now stuck because of forcibly closing it the removal of the door panel may be necessary to access the interior door cavity to dislodge it to repair the damage. The problem with this evasive procedure is the door panel may be damage beyond reusing it?
BTW while I would normally that you seek out an auto body shop for the repair if you feel you are a competent DIY and with an assistant it is not that difficult a job to pull the door and replace all the worn parts.
