Welcome to the forum. Sounds like an ambitious project. I appreciate what you are going for - reliability and power of the Mazda engine with the lightweight go-cart handling of the Morris.

I am not sure that you will find the expert advice you need on this forum, but it is worth a try. Another place to seek help is a MINI forum (www.northamericanmotoring.com). The people on the MINI forum seem to have tried everything at least once.

Good Luck

Welcome to the forum

There are better choices of engine for a Mini that the MAZDA engine. Not even sure why you would want to do this project unless it is to be the first. Honda engines generally are the first choice for the older original Mini's.

Now I suppose it may be cool to stick the Chrysler 1.6 that is in the first Generation MINI Cooper S model MCS 2001-2006 with the Super Charger. But dont expect to make much more then 400-550 wheel HP. LOL

BTW there is a better MINI form that is in the UK and NAM is not really the best for information anymore in the last 2 decades.
You might contact MINI Mania, the owner and a few employee's race original Mini's as well the BMW/MINIs
