whats going on guys i just bought a mazda protege its also my first car its a 98 1.5 dx i like it but it has some serious problems i have a friend who can fix those for me but as far as aesthetics go i am a little lost i know for sure i want to do a headlamp conversion shave the door handles get door poppers 17-19 inch rims all black chrome lip and 10% tint if you guys can help me out with suggestions on what headlamps and models to use what some stuff my cost me and any and i mean any interior suggestions i hate the interior color tan i want somehting to go with the dark bluish green exterior
hey welcome fellow mazda owner, dont know much bout your headlight suggestion, but isn't 10% tint a little too dark...neway...uh...id say go with 17 or 18in rims, anything higher says luxury and no race...for a car, i also say just go with a nice black interior but not leather.
Proteges are really fun zippy cars. I suggest a 2003 Mazda Protege 5 healamp. It is the only one to have dua beams and the turn signal is a clear bulb in the interrior of the light rather than an ugly orange one on the outer edege of the lamp. It's enclosure is also painted black rather than chrome. best protege headlight ever. you'd have to fabricate the bumper to take a 2003 headlight but I assume you know hoe because you want to shave the handles. I say go 15% titn and 30% on the front and rear windshields (for SOME nighttime visibility. My cousin has to roll down his window and stick his head out when backing up. Maybe go 40% on the rear windshield) for wheels I say throw on some 17 inch Mazdaspeed Protege rims. It's a clean five spoke design (Tracker has them ask for pics). the 2003s and earlier are bright silver but the 2003.5 (two thousand three and a half) Mazdaspeed Protege wheels are gunmetal like Tracker's. My friend wants to swap his 2000 Protege LX interrior (grey) with an MSP interrior (black) if he ever get's the money or a donor car t do this I'll give you his info to call him about his old interrior pannels (what you could use on your 98). Your best bet would be stripping your interrior, sanding the pieces and getting them painted matte black. then refinish the seats and carpeting black with the Montego Blue inserts on the seats ( Montego blue is a color on the 3rd generation Rx-7 that is darkish green/blue like you described may be different on Protege, but pick a matching dye for the leather/cloth)
