Hello! I just joined today, looking for fellow mazda owners and possibly answers to any questions I may have. Which I do have one so I'll post that next. My name is Jennifer, I'm 24. I live in Tucson, AZ. I got rid of a 2006 lemon cobalt for my 2005 Mazda RX-8 which i bought used from a mitsubishi dealer. She's had a rebuilt engine, some minor problems and the current one which is a broken 2nd gear synchro which I hope to get fixed in the next week or two. I've had her since the end of August and I love her. Although she's a pain in my rear sometimes with all the fluid issues known to RX-8's. This is my first mazda and I test drove one and fell in love with it but ended up getting this one. I've learned alot in the few months i've had her. She is winning blue metallic, with a borla cat-back exhaust system, 18in vsr performance wheels. I added a car bra to her as i have some hood damage from a friend (chip repairs gone wrong) and i curb checked her (oops) so once i get $250 she's going to be fixed and re-painted. I also just bought brand new tires at $94 a piece nothing big or fancy just something to put on it, as i bought her with no tread at all and the dealer said "as is". I put 225/45/R18 Nankang Sport NSII on her. I also have a 3rd brake light sticker, some minor things i painted in the interior. I recieved 2nd place at my FIRST car show in the tuner division with her. So enough about her here's the most recent pics!

Lol I like your sig.

If you don't mind me asking, why was the engine rebuilt on such a new RX-8? And you said it had bald tires? I'd be scared about this car if I were you..

Welcome Jen, and best wishes, butI have to agree w/VB on that one. Just w/what you write above, it sounds like some idiot owned her before you and probably beat the crap out of her. You don't say what mileage is on the clock but a new engine AND now second gear too? I'm guessing that you bought her w/the wheels and exhaust already installed?
I honestly hope for your sake that you didn't trade in one lemon for another.

Exactly as you stated. The previous owner probably beat the crap out of her. She came with the exhaust and wheels. And what's funny is when i put on new tires my tire pressure sensors aren't designed to fit into these wheels. So i have a car with wheels that fit the car but aren't made for the car. When i purchased my car I got raped bad. I said I would take it home as long as it was in the payment range of my previous car. This car had no fluids in it and bald tires. I drove around with bald tires til about a week ago when i bought new ones. I did change the fluids myself and have the oil changed by the dealership. There is 32,000 miles on this car. Aside from those issues She works just fine I'm hoping this is the last of the problems.

I love that picture in my sig makes me laugh.

rub it in why don't you lol. i wasn't in the market for a mazda i wanted a 350z or a mustang (sports car) since the camaro is so far away. but i test drove one fell in love with it, they wouldn't approve me so i went looking around found this one got it and took it home and yeah lol the previous owner contacted me on myspace and claimed he took care of it..i highly doubt he did.

Yeah, he probably abused the poor, defenseless thing. I hate people like him, cars do nothing to deserve that kind of treatment. [:@]

You did pick a good model though...IMO the RX-8 > Mustang (unless we're talking Roush) and 350Z (all dressed up without much to do).

Though if it were up to me, I'd have that WRX in your sig...just not in black. Black cars in NYC = bad idea.

oh really? i had a black cobalt previous to this and i loved it. Black was just nice to me. But blue is my favorite color. I agree i would LOVE an sti but they wanted 40,000 and the 350z i REALLY wanted was the nismo edition for $60,000!! and the mustangs i looked at were cobras and roush's for $30,000+ so i got my car for $25,000 (yes i was raped) and i went with it since it was in the same payment range that i was paying for my cobalt and it fit into my budget. but yes the car sat for like 2-3 months.

my rotors have rust on it, there was no fluids the oil hadn't been changed the tires were bald (i was getting 15mph) so on new tires i am getting roughly 19mph i keep tabs on all my fluids. I take care of her and it makes me mad that soo many problems are happening i'm glad i have a factory warranty i hope that everything gets fixed and as long as i learn about her and take care of her she will last awhile.
