Default Need some advice.

hi guys was wondering if you could give me some advice, I知 looking to get a Mazda soon but I知 stuck between rx8 and mx5 mk1/mk2. I know the common hot/cold start problems with rx8 as well as the common rust on the skills of the mx5. I知 19 nearly 20 and can afford to run and insure both was just wondering which would be better and why?
Thanks in advance

The MX-5 Miata is an extremely reliable fun car. Some would argue that it is under-powered but those who have driven one say it is perfect the way it is.

The RX-8 has more power and is perhaps a more grown up sports car, with back seats. The gas mileage is horrible far worse in the RX-8. There are more mechanical issues with the RX-8 and many of the issues are unique to the RX-8 since there are no other recent (and non-Mazda) rotary engines on the road. I would guess that the issues may overwhelm the local mechanic unless they specialize in Mazda rotary engines.

I am not saying that people should avoid RX-8s, only that I would recommend the MX-5 over the RX-8 for someone who may not have the time, experience, money and so on to enjoy the RX-8 for what it is.

I strongly recommend the MX-5 to anyone who fits in it that is looking for a fun to drive and easy to maintain roadster. It is better than everything else that has been made in the past 30 years.
