Hi everyone,

I have a 2015 Mazda3. Has anyone run into the issue where their mute button works for adjusting the volume (spinning) but does not mute the radio when pressed? All of the other buttons work fine and I’ve removed the console and checked the underside of the radio control.

Not being able to use the mute button prevents me from accessing the menu for updating the software on my vehicle. Does anyone know if there’s an alternative way to access this menu?

Any help would be appreciated!

 

Any chance you spilled a soda on the button? My back button is not working too well and I suspect I have only myself to blame.

I think it’s possible, or maybe a sanitizer spray/wipe at some point. I’ve looked into the actual unit and cleaned it with Q tips and isopropyl alcohol hoping that would make a difference. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like it resolved the issue.
