Mazda 2 - iStop Warning Alarm.
Hi All.... just new here so please be patient. I am in Australia. I own a 2019, Automatic, Petrol, Mazda 2 Hatchback. I do not use, nor want to use the iStop function.
My issue is as follows. The iStop amber warning light is on (Flashing). I know that the issue is a lower battery voltage than the alarm threshold level.
I can put the battery on charge overnight and the flashing alarm will disappear for a day or so.
I also am aware of the iStop on/off switch. This only controls the iStop function from cutting in. It does not prevent the iStop alarm from appearing on the instrument panel.
When I had the car in for its service at the local Mazda dealer, I asked them if they could get into the software and remove the alarm for me, as I neither use nor want the iStop function.
I was told that it could not be done.
Does anyone have some real insight as to whether it can be removed or not? After all it is only software / code.
Cheers and Thanks.

Have you had the battery load tested?
The warning light only comes on when the batteries SOC, State of Charge falls bellow a certain threshold. If you are recharging the battery and light comes on soon after, either you have a significant current draw or the battery is dying.

I posted the cure for this some time back. Here it is:
If anybody is like me, I hate the i-stop function especially maneuvering into a tight car space, (touch the brake and buggar...stopped again) I know you can de-activate every trip but at my age I'm having trouble remembering my false teeth when I go out. Anyway, if you want to get rid of the bloody thing:
Open bonnet and remove two plastic push on clips on the cover over the bonnet lock.
Use a small screwdriver to unclip the two clips in next cover.
Then you will see a plastic switch with a philips head screw fastening it.
That has a notch in the underside which locates it.
Loosen it enough to turn the switch away from the metal contact and then tighten it up.
Done.....No lights no alarms no i-stop

Great answer but
…..
the very first thing you do is always check the health of the battery by having it properly load tested.
