I currently have a head unit that has the MD/Tape button but no cassette module. I managed to track one down on eBay & the cassette works great. However, I discovered you can connect an Aux cable to a 3.5mm jack at the back of the radio. I connected it up & pressing the CD Player button twice or the MD/Tape button twice did nothing. However, I soon discovered the head unit I purchased, just for the cassette module is a newer model a 2006 version. Model DG42 66 ARO. Now on this head unit, it has just a Media button where mine has MD/Tape. Now, the reason I didn't just switch over the head units was the front panel is a bit scratched & naff. But I thought I would ask if anyone has any idea if the Aux adaptor will work on this newer version or not, before I go through the hassle of switching them over to test. I'm sure the front panels can be switched over as well from my existing one.

I've seen youtube vids of people plugging in the Aux adaptor into Mazda 2 Demio 2006's. Mines a 2004 Mazda 2 sport hatchback. So a little older.
