hey all i just got a 2004 mazda 3. and i found a random cord sticking out form underneath the center console that looks like an auxillary cable. so i plugged it into my phone and tried messing with it through my phone and the radio settings but i cant get anything to work. i know this is very very vague, but thats kinda how it is to me as well. im just trying to figure out if there is anything special i need to do. if i need to post a picture of what im seeing, i can do that as well.

any help is greatly appreciated.

The 2004 didn't come with an aux jack. If the car has an aftermarket stereo then it's possible someone ran an aux jack to the console area. There are also some aftermarket products that hook to the factory radio. Some of them have to b tuned to a certain station and its like 88.3 or something.
