I've been driving my Gen 1 Mazda3 GT for over 15 years and now with a growing family, I'm looking to upgrade to the CX-5 or maybe the CX-50. Looking at all the features newer car has has been daunting. Also, looking over carfax on used car damage cost that seem like nothing has also been shocking. Like a 6K rear end damage is considered minor damage. I think when my Mazda3 for sideswiped in 2014 and it as 3k to replace the mirror and side front panel was big back then.

Anyway, I've been looking at the CX-5 GT non turbo or CX-50 GT non turbo. I'm not really keen on the fuel drain with a turbo engine. I went with the GT trim since it feel it has most of the features I'd want minus overhead camera.

I did find some inconsistency from my research of the CX-5 though.

When did wireless Android Auto become standard? I was surprised how new the tech is.

Has the infotament really change for models before 2022? Can you still update it to the lastest update on older models?

Is not having overhead camera a big deal? Is it a must have feature?
