Knocking noise

I think you may be refering to a tie-rod end. It connects between the steering gear and the knuckle. It may make a noise but would usually only be a one time clunk. Yes it could be an upper strut mount but is should also make the noise when you are not moving and turning the steering wheel. Is this noise something your mechanic is able to make happen as well? The boot of the CV does not necessarily need to be torn open to be noisy. My 91 323 makes a knock noise from the CV and boots are fine. I replaced the OE axle with a remanufacted after market and it started making noise about a month after it was installed.

Try taking a look at your caliper slide pins, these are very prone to oblonging themselves and allowing the pins to rattle.

rattle and clicking when turn is different right? i mean the rattle will be constant ...

what else can it be??

The rattle and clicking from bad slide pins can be heard when turning in any direction or under braking and or accel.
