Default Knocking Noise

Well guys my car starting making some small knocking noise about a week ago so I took it in to the dealership this tuesday to have it looked at. They told me they would call back in 2 hours and tell me what is wrong. I just heard from the yesterday(Thursday). No body ever bothered to call me and every time I called no body knew anything about it yet. Well i finally got fed up and called and started raising cain. They apologized and told me that I need a brand new transmission. Now there are 2 things that really upset me about this whole situation. 1. No one ever call me the first time to give me an update , very poor business in my opinion. and 2. The car is an 2006 Mazda 3s and I have only had it six months and it has 20k and im already getting a new transmission. No i dont have to pay for anything of course because it is under warranty but it just really upsets me that these people would inconeniece someone so much. Now i have to wait another week to get my car. Has anybody else had any problems out of their transmission with low miles on it?

Holy crap! You put 20,000 miles on your car in six months? There's always the posibility that you just got a bum transmission, not even taking into account the number of miles you put on it in six months. Sometimes things just break, and that's what the warranty is for.

Did the dealer at least give you a loaner car without any problems?

i own an 06 3i since May.....well, mazda3's high ratings in consumer reports is questionable as far as i'm concerned. Anything associated with Ford is questionable i guess.

Wow
I also commute 80 miles roundtrip for work everyday. (Brooklyn to Jersey and back)
I've been doing it on an '06 3I since Nov. '05
Up to 20,000 miles too.
The biggest problem I've had so far is a wheel bearing that went at about 7 or 8,000 miles ( I think).
I also had issues with the dealer for this repair, communication or lack thereof, and other servic issues as well. So much so that I no longer go to my local dealer in Brooklyn and use the dealer out here in Warren NJ where I work. A much more pleasant experience, everytime
