Hi ... I don't own a Mazda now, but am seriously considering a late model, used CX-5. I've owned Mazdas in the past and was very happy with them. The CX-5 is especially appealing based on my limited exposure to the model. I'll probably have a few questions as time goes on, but right now I just want to explore the forum and read about the vehicle in order to better understand its feature and the pros and cons of ownership. Thanks!

 

Welcome to the forum. The CX-5 is a great vehicle. The only problem is that if you like to do your own repairs, there may not be much for you to do since they are so reliable.

That's fine with me. I no longer enjoy have a garage or workshop, so doing my own work is difficult. My previous Mazdas were also trouble-free and dependable, except for the RX-2.

 

I owned an RX2... it was a factory rocket. I was one of the lucky owners of a hand built MAZDA Rotary Engine from MAZDA.

 

Yes, it was quick, but IIRC, the car didn't handle particularly well. Nice highway cruiser, though, albeit a bit thirsty. Still, lots of fun to drive.

 

When I owned it life was about Street Racing and Drag Racing at the track. I use to buzz the engine 8K + RPM and it would disintegrate clutches. This was a Dailey driver at the time. Sadly one of the few cars I never took any pictures of. Maybe because it was that pale Mazda Yellow with a white interior / LOL
