Just a shout out
I wanted to come onto the site and say hello. Just purchased a '95 B2300 and know how valuable forums such as this are. I help moderate a Yamaha forum, so I can appreciate help with this new to me truck.
Looking forward to chatting with y'all.

Welcome!
I can't help you with that truck as i have a 2006 Mazda 6, but maybe you can help me!
I have a Yamaha RX-V567 5.1, 7.1 amplifier.
Can I hook up a 4.1 system without losing audio? ie: fronts, rears and sub, no center!
The reason why i don't want a center is it's direction to going straight out my room, and the cost. I have also got the 4 speakers and a sub. However the sub configuration may change as the sub I have is a very large 15" speaker with a top speaker (8" and tweeter) mounted on to it (see attached) but wired separately, and i may just use the top and get a powered 10" - 12" sub to save space and ease of lifting. My other 2 smaller speakers are paradigm mini monitors with a 6" and tweeter.
I have 2 large amps besides the Yamaha that I am trying to sell with an electronic crossover and mixer, condenser mic as a package because I am getting out of the DJ business. If I sell the amps, then I need another one for the 15" sub, otherwise just buy a powered sub and cut the top portion off of large speaker.
I also listen to music thru my computer using the Audio Input 1 which is just basically right and left input -- hence the 4.1 config. I think there is a selector to play on rears, although if stereo is chosen it is out the fronts.
I use the optical in when watching TV
Confusing? Yes, this 5.1 is confusing when listening from multiple inputs. Too many options! What to do?
I just read that i can select center speaker to "none" and the signals will be sent to front! Page 51 of owners manual pdf, so yes i can go 4.1!

Hey Al,
Unfortunately my Yamaha experience is with internal combustion motors aka Yamaha Venture touring bike. You lost me after the 1 sentence lol.
I appreciate you posting up, but I'm not going to be able to help you with your surround sound issue, nice looking equipment though.

I got it figured out as per last line. I just have to answer "None" to center and it will send those signals to fronts. 4.1 here we come!
There you go, you can't help and i probably can't help you, oh well.

1 other thing i found out today, is the amps i bought 5 years ago are cheaper now! Dammit! So if i re-sell them, only going to get about 35% of the worth!
