I Hear Crickets Under The Hood

Exclamation I Hear Crickets Under The Hood
I have a 2009 Mazda5 van. I have started to hear a high pitch whirring sound coming from underneath the hood while I'm driving. Sounds like crickets. Someone said it could be a belt. It's not that loud but the sound shifts as the transmission shifts. Any ideas? Thanks.
